Thanks for the stile we bought Glebe Cottage. We're glad to say that it arrived in one piece thanks to all the packing you put in. Our stile has pride of place on our mantle piece along with momento's of the Cleveland Way. One of the highlights of our journey was undoubtebly Glebe Cottage, we didn't eat but Tanya indulged in, what Tanya thought was one of the best wines (greek), that she's ever tasted, and as far as myself, the Black Sheep Emmerdale wa samber nectar!! Thanks again. Hope the future holds well for you all, including the new arrival, Holly. See you again, soon. Robert, Tanya and Hannah (10yo)
Dear Colin & Heather
Last Sunday a group of cyclists, and support team, dropped in and enjoyed refreshments, scones & cream.
This letter is to thank you for your hospitality and tolerance of our wet clothes etc. we shall not hesitate to recommend your tea room to others and all of us wish you great success in the future.
You were voted the best of all our stops on the way from Morecombe to Whitby.
Best wishes Pete, Val & Co.
Evening Press, York - Letters
The walks printed by the Evening Press on a Saturday night are very enjoyable but George Wilkinson missed a treat in his walk in Captain Cook Country (March 9).
By taking an entertaining little diversion down the Cleveland Way into the pretty little village of Kildale, you can call in at Glebe Cottage, which is a walkers’ tea room serving wicked homemade cakes and excellent meals.
Doing this little extension also makes the walk six miles rather than four (worth putting on your boots for!)
The Evening Press has a duty to do it all it can to promote small enterprises such as this one after foot and mouth devastated our rural economy like it did.
It is no use mentioning obvious place like Great Ayton which gets its fair slice of trade anyway. It’s little treasures off the beaten track that George and Victoria should be tracking down.
